Migrating to New Technology

Published on: 31 July 2024

A Formidable Goal

In the sprawling villages of western India, where the dairy industry thrives, a company dedicated to revolutionising dairy procurement supply chains stood at the forefront of innovation. With over 9700 Automatic Milk Collection Stations (AMCS) scattered across Gujarat, their mission was clear: to streamline operations and embrace the future of technology.

Enter the Technical Director, who supported by his Causing Incredible Performance Coach took on a bold objective. In the span of just three months, he set his sights on a formidable goal: to replace 1400 outdated AMCSs running on VB technology with the sleek efficiency of the .NET platform. It was a monumental task, but one he approached with unwavering determination.

Attending to Details

The transition from one technology to another was no small feat. It required not only the adoption of the new platform but also the cooperation of the customers who relied on these stations for their livelihood. With 15 customers in the mix, the Technical Director knew that securing their buy-in was paramount to the success of the project.
Ah, A Curveball
But just as the wheels were set in motion, a curveball was thrown their way. Barely a month and a half into the project, one of their key customers decided to defer the migration process by two months, throwing a wrench into their carefully laid plans. Undeterred, the Director and his team refused to be thwarted by this setback. Instead, they doubled down on their efforts, rallying other customers and mobilizing additional resources to make up for lost time. With grit and determination, they pushed forward, navigating through trial runs, customization, bug fixing, testing, and rollout with unparalleled efficiency.

Getting it Done

Focused on a single district in Gujarat, where 1700 AMCSs awaited transformation, the Director and his team worked tirelessly to ensure success. And when the dust finally settled, their efforts bore fruit beyond their wildest dreams.

No Goal is Too Ambitious

Against all odds, they achieved not just their original goal of 1400 conversions but surpassed it with flying colors. With a total of 3900 conversions completed in the span of three months, they had rewritten the playbook on technological advancement in the dairy industry.

And as they looked to the future, they did so with a renewed sense of purpose and the unwavering belief that no goal was too ambitious when the actions under the CIP Framework were consistently applied.
